The E-ECU™ is comprised of one closed loop fluid system. The loop is designed to operate heat exchangers/dehumidifiers located within one or multiple hyperbaric systems. Delivery and return of the fluids is accomplished through 3/4” supply and return connections located on the package frame. The refrigeration system contains one refrigeration compressor with reverse cycle controls to allow the system to operate in either a heat pump or cooling mode. The fluids are delivered via a turbine pump which can deliver the correct flows even through long hoses in the event the unit must be located a considerable distance from the chamber(s). The system also has an onboard fluid reservoir that acts as the supply tank and an expansion tank.

The AC Plus Marine, Inc., E-ECU™ Emergency Hyperbaric Enviromental Conditioning Unit was designed and constructed for use in the Commercial Saturation Dive Industry. The system will maintain automatic control of hyperbaric relative humidity control to a dew point below 42°F (5.5°C). Or it can be operated as a reverse cycle heat-pump to provide heating fluid via the same loop. *Higher Temperatures are possible but not recommended. OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS The unit will deliver cooling or heating fluid to one or more chambers for either heating or dehumidification/cooling based on the operators, selection of either the heat or cool mode of operation.Temperature control of the fluids are maintained via a digital temperature control located on the unit. The compressor and pump are also operated from the control station mounted on the unit. Illuminated indicators are provided on the system.Proper head pressure is maintained even in low ambient conditions via a condenser fan speed control. Refrigerant delivery is accomplished via a stainless steel thermal expansion valve and solenoid valve.High and low pressure switches are located in the refrigeration loop along with thermal overloads and other safety devices to provide operator and system protection. |
